Real Field - glass casting work on the theme of Artificial\Real
I wanted to post this earlier but...... Schoolwork! This is a series I made for our Glass Arts class, where we were able to learn different techniques like melting,fusing, pate de verre casting and cool treatment. I got the idea while working on one of the exercises we had gotten before starting work on our final pieces. I had gone through a series of other ideas before really landing on this one, talking about it with our instructor, and finally starting tests on it. I also had a few more of these planned into the series.... but it panned out like this, so now there are three that make a whole. These were made using mashed spectrum glass and fusing(melting it) in a mold i drew the imagery in.

The exhibition/evaluation/exam for this work went quite well In January or February, there will also be a bigger exhibition of our works from this half-year, so if you're around Tallinn during this time, ask me about where the exhibition is and when exactly it takes place and these will be on display there as well : )
This photo is from our group evaluation exhibit from the 17th of December at our department, and made with the old Nikon from circa 2005..... so the photo is not very good. Hopefully there will be a better chance at photos during the next (possible) exhibit. So excited for having finished this work!

Edit: just adding a few more tags and changing the title. Visited the Glass Museum south of Paide and really really  loved it there. Remembered how rewarding it was seeing all of these come together. Also.... on the 2nd exhibition..... managed to break one of these and my favourite one too, the first that actually came out ok. That orange one on the left. But I guess when you're tired you should let someone else handle things you like.... or just handle it 100% yourself.
